Fibre arts and Pet Portraits
About Me
My name is Diane Gray and I come from a small town located north of Toronto Canada.
I've lived here my life with my husband and currently three dogs. Two English Setters and one Welsh Springer Spaniel.
I have been very active in all dog sports for more than 20 years, and received much success with many of our dogs.
During this time, I noticed that there was a need for custom works of art that included likenesses of peoples dogs.
I started painting dog portraits with pastels of customers dogs that have crossed the rainbow bridge. After a few years, I progressed to learning needle felting 3D statues of dogs and a few cats and horses. This is a very time consuming process with fabulous results of true likenesses of the pet I a creating in a miniature version of the past or present pet.
I am constantly interested in all types of different arts and crafts and happened to fall upon macrame.
Although not dog related, I am working on incorporating some ideas that will satisfy the dog owner community as well.
This was a fad in the 70's, and I think everyone did at least one plant hanger. But it has be remade into a whole new industry with fabulous wall hangings, shelving, ornaments etc.
The possibilities are endless now on what can be made with cotton cord!
I truly enjoy every project that I create and love when a customer is over the moon with delight of the outcome of their order.
